Stuart explained everything in plain English and answered all my questions so putting me at complete ease that the procedure I was going to have would be exactly what I needed. Totally understood my concerns over my warfarin management, as my previous operation at another hospital was a shambles as far as dealing with warfarin was concerned.
The NNUH Urology Diagnostic Clinic is a great service; I had an appointment 8 days from referral by GP. . Mr Irving, in giving good news, addressed my concerns with lucidity.
Mr Irving shows great understanding of both the operation itself and the emotional situations that are present. Giving accurate statistics and honest comment.
Having a kidney stone is never a great experience but the service I received was outstanding, surgery was booked the following day (Sunday), I was kept fully informed both before the operation and after. I understand the laser surgery was difficult and only just possible given the position of the stone. Mr Irving was skilled and experienced enough to remove it, enabling us to continue with our family holiday just 4 weeks later.
Following the stent removal four days after the stone surgery I experienced further kidney stone type pain, I was readmitted to hospital for monitoring and pain relief which was all over seen by Mr Irving.
Our follow up out patient appointment was informative and relaxed, where all our questions were answered to our satisfaction.
I could not fault my care that I received from My Irving or the NHS and feel very lucky to be a position where I was able to swing my treatment over to a private patient.
Stuart had a very professional and friendly manner and his knowledge regarding my condition gave me great confidence in his recommendations.
